Our Staff

Our staff are professionals and their goal is to make your visit as easy as possible for you. Working with are doctors are highly trained expanded function dental assistants and basic dental assistants. Expanded function dental assistants receive additional training in the areas of restorative and prosthodontic procedures which, traditionally, had been performed by a dentist. They perform these duties under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist.

Dr. Mark Beard, DDS, General Dentistry
Dr. Beard grew up in Liberty Missouri a suburb of Kansas City and is a 2005 graduate UMKC Dental School and former President of the Clay Platte County Dental Association.
Growing up in a household of medical professionals of three MD’s, two nurses and two dentists he felt destined to follow in his families footsteps and became a dentist. He feels his obligation to society is to help others by teaching all of his patients' proper oral hygiene to ensure healthy teeth and gums.
Dr. Beard enjoys fishing and working out and anything that allows him to be outside and enjoy nature.
His low pressure, calm demeanor helps his patients feel relaxed allowing him to perform dentistry on patients of all ages with no anxiety

At Access Dental & Dentures in Rolla Dr. Beard is putting all of his skills into practice and looks forward to meeting existing patients and welcomes new patients!

Osage Beach Location

Access Dental & Dentures is excited to welcome back to his hometown of Lake of the Ozarks, Dr. Jacob Smith! Dr. Smith grew up in Lake of the Ozarks and is a 2012 graduate of UMKC School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Smith pursued a one-year residency in general dentistry at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. His training continued for a second-year residency in general dentistry at West Los Angeles VA Medical Center / UCLA. Finally, Dr. Smith concluded his post-graduate training at Georgia Regents University where he completed a one-year internship in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Smith is an enthusiastic general dentist with advanced training in comprehensive dentistry and a strong clinical background in oral surgery, implant dentistry, and intravenous sedation. He is currently a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and Missouri Dental Association. When Dr. Smith is away from work, he enjoys spending time with family, playing the piano and guitar, reading, exercising, traveling, and attending church-related activities.
Dr. Smith takes a patient-based approach to dentistry, where he puts the focus on the goals of each individual rather than providing solely “textbook dentistry.”
“My goal is to completely communicate each treatment plan in a simple but comprehensive way, allowing the patient to feel comfortable in choosing the most appropriate treatment approach.”
Dr. Smith is excited to return to his hometown and looks forward to reconnecting with his old friends and making new ones!
